On a side note..

First, thank you very much to the one person who has voted on my poll thus far. I will leave it up for a few days, in hopes that at least a couple more people will stop by.

Next, I have to say how much it astounds me that people come in here and ask where the paper towel is. We have a sink. The paper towel dispenser sits right above the sink. If you look straight ahead while standing at the sink, you can't miss it. Seriously. One of the managers just came in and asked for some paper towel, and I had to point him in the right direction. These people can find the sink to dump their skunky day-old coffee into, but they can't find the paper towel dispenser. Awesome.

Post me a post...

Maybe.

I'm coming up strangely blank today. Sick coworker is back today, but my boss is on vacation, so I still had to get up sort of early. Same goes for tomorrow and Monday. At least I have my computer time back, for the most part. I'm a bit sleepy, I woke up at 1:30 in the morning for no reason whatsoever, and couldn't sleep again until after 3. This is bad because I'm not concentrating so well now, and I have a lot of things that need to get done today. *sigh* Let's ramble on a bit about WoW then, eh?

I put in some time on Saraabi last night after I got home from work. She is now 76 and about a half, from questing in Sholazar. I didn't really intend to quest there, because I wanted to keep neutral with Oracles and Frenzyheart, but in the end I couldn't resist. The amount of Saronite there is a beautiful thing. In a couple of hours of questing, I had three stacks of it, as well as some Titanium, two eternal Earth, one eternal Shadow, plus half each of Air and Fire. So not only am I supporting my own Jewelcrafting, I'm able to provide hubby with some mats for his Blacksmithing, which in turn he uses to make gear for me.

Can I just say here that I love my Tempered Saronite set? It amazes me how different things are from when I first started running around Sholazar just mining. Even at 73 I was running away from Dreadsabers because I knew it would take me forever to kill them. Now? I am pulling packs of rhinos and dreadsabers and AOE tanking them like it was nothing. It's a beautiful thing for me.

Speaking of rhinos, I'm very sad that they're making Stampede a single-target thing. I don't bring Rocksteady out so much now that Chompy is 80, but it was fun to be able to pick up a group of mobs and scatter them to the four winds. Still, according to BRK's post today, he'll be getting Thunderstomp, so he'll be better able to AOE tank. Good thing too, I'm not so fond of Gorillas. They're also taking away any reason I'd have to bring a wolf to raids, so it looks like I'm going to have to find another "normal" pet for any jaunts I have into Survival or Marksmanship. I still have Leshya, anyway. The wolf was just the only 80-ish Ferocity pet available at the time. I do like that it color-changes like my rhino, but perhaps it's time for another cat or raptor. Or maybe even a ravager, just to be different, seeing as there are three other hunters in my guild, and between them they raid with two cats and a raptor. Perhaps if I do get a ravager, I will name it Pookie, in honor of Breana. We shall see.

We apologize for the inconvenience...

And the lack of posts. Hopefully I'll have something decent tomorrow. Someone is sick at work, which takes me pretty much completely away from the computer. Be back ASAP!

I cannot type today.

I am entering some data at work from tests that have been done over the past few days.
Result one: RD number, blah blah blah numbers.
Result two: Congrol, blah blah..
Wait, what?
Congrol.
ConTrol.
That's what I said.. congrol.
/facepalm
My left index finger is annoyed at the T for some reason. Loves the heck out of the G though.

For much better internal conversation (and with a WoW theme too), check out BRK's post today.

Coworker Story Time!

I know I'm not the best storyteller in the world, but bear with me here.

The scene: I am sitting at my desk, The Whistler is sitting across from me blathering on about giving blood and how he hasn't done it in years, but if he were to go live in Africa he'd stock some of his own blood there so he didn't get AIDS. One of the newer members of the department walks in at this point, and she only caught the last few words of what he said. The following conversation ensues (more or less, I've been interrupted in my typing a few times now, and the details are slipping, lol).

New Coworker: Who's got AIDS??
Whistler: Third World Countries. I was just talking about giving blood and how I'd want some of my own blood on hand if I were to live in Africa.
New Coworker: Oh.
Whistler: Anyway... you want some of the good stuff? (points down into his lap)
The new coworker just stands there and stares at him for a minute. My jaw hit the floor.
Whistler (embarrassed): Oh.. um.. THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT! I was offering you the CHAIR, you pervert!
New Coworker: OH! I didn't even know what to think, "You want some of the good stuff" and you're pointing down at your lap!
Whistler: I can't believe you would think that! You're sick! I didn't even mean that.

Now, she's on her feet most of the day, so I understand he was trying to be nice and let her sit down. But come ON! I just kept my head down and tried not to laugh out loud. It was VERY difficult!!!

Tired Tuesday

I don't have a lot to say today.. one of my early risers is on vacation for the rest of the week, so I've been up since 2:30 this morning. Blech.

We had a pretty quiet weekend, though we went to see Wall-E on Sunday afternoon. It was very cute, and I liked it a lot. Neither of the main two robots had much in the way of lines, but they definitely made up for it with personality. A big thumbs up from me, that's for sure!

Not much else to report.. the guild is taking a week vacation from raiding, so things are pretty quiet on that front. Did a little EOTS and an AB last night before I went to bed (at 8pm *grump*), but that's about it. Maybe tonight we'll spend some time on our paladins, but I think that'll depend on how long of a day I have at work. Odds are I'll probably be too tired to do more than eat a bit of dinner and collapse in bed. :( At least I've got a long weekend to look forward to, though! /cheer

Rambling

Nice druids are nice.

I am trying to decide which is better.. a boring job where I can basically mess around on the internet all day, or a more interesting job that actually keeps me busy.

A guy I work with plays WoW. He has a hunter (like me, except MM) on a different server, and he is going on his very first Kara run tonight. It's his Very First Raid (tm), and I tried to give him some advice. I hope he manages himself ok. He zerged to 70 running instances all the time, and I worry that it didn't teach him enough in the way of class mechanics, especially if his guild isn't overly experienced. I'll find out tomorrow I guess.

My Very First Raid (tm) was UBRS. I had never kited anything in my life, and I got to pull Drakk. He conflagged me, but my group was on the ball and made it through anyway. I got my first piece of T0 as a reward, lol!! Never did get that danged hat from Scholo though.

I'm a bit sad that the next WoW expansion is coming out relatively soon. It looks like a lot of fun new stuff is coming, but I'm not done enjoying the stuff that's out NOW! Maybe I'll feel better about it once we get Vashj down. And if I can get my pally up to 70 before it comes out too.

I'm really curious about what new skills are going to be available as we all level up to 80. 10 more talent points is a big deal!
