And the verdict is...

My computer is in a sad state of affairs. Hubby has done some checking, and the -only- way my computer is remotely fixable is if I can get ahold of Windows XP. So.. I guess I have 2 options. I can spend hella dollars on a copy of XP, or perhaps I can spend hella dollars on a new tower. sigh. I don't have hella dollars, we just did our Christmas shopping!! So I guess I'll be bonding with the laptop for a while longer. Off to dinnertime for me then. We're having fried chicken and potatoes, what's on your plate tonight?

ummm, what did the computer have on it for an OS if not xp? anything from win 98 on up you can use the upgrade to xp which is alot less then the whole program.

Mike says he can make you a copy of his XP but it's on DVD. Does your PC have a DVD? (Laughing at how this reads.)He also has a WindowsXP start up disk on CD. Do you want to try either of those?

I have the tummy flu so Mike warmed me up some soup and made grilled cheese.

I may be able to copy the dvd's onto cd's if I try though. Just haven't tried that as of yet. It's on 2 dvd's (the XP copies I have). BTW, if you use the ones I have (if you can that is) you'd end up with the programs that came with my pc. It wouldn't be a bad thing though as it's a media pc :)

I need the XP startup disk, that would be awesome if I could borrow Mike's! Also, my CD player is new, it's a CD/DVD, so that would probably work too. Thanks you guys! :)

well we had leftover turkey and dressing for dinner last night - supplemented with a run to Taco Bell .. don't ask why... :)

The startup cd is for xp. I'll have to get some -r dvd's to make copies of the whole thing though. HP specifies -r and all I have at the moment is +r type disc's.
