On a more serious note..

I've been checking my mailbox at home neurotically for the past week or so. Why?

Well, I'm adopted, you see. There's a link to the post where I talk about it over ----> there in my sidebar, "Adoption". I've been trying to decide whether or not to pursue knowledge of my birth mother for the past couple of years, and this year, I finally decided to go for it. I called the place my parents adopted me from, and they sent me some forms. I couldn't remember the exact date, so I just checked, and they cashed the check I sent them to process the forms on 6/13. They said it would be 8-9 weeks before I heard anything back. So I went over to the calendar, and today is exactly 8 weeks from that day.

So sometime in the next week, I should be receiving whatever information they could possibly send me, along with anything that is on file with the state about my adoption. I will also hopefully be finding out whether or not any of my birth family has consented to share any of their information, like names, addresses, anything of that nature. I'm scared and excited all at the same time. I knew it had to be getting close to 8 weeks, I just didn't realize exactly how close this was. *deep breaths* It would be perfect timing if it arrived today.. whatever I get from them, I have the whole weekend to read it and come to terms with what it may or may not have to say.

So now I have one more reason to want to get out of work early today... I need to check the MAIL!!!!

Mags actually said what I was thinking, very eloquently.

We will LOVE you no matter the results of a piece of paper - but I know that you're doing this as part of your personal journey, and support you 100%.
LOVE ya,
mo

Mine turned out well, Including finding a brother and 3 sisters I never knew about.

It was well recieved by all, and I hope yours goes ayt least half as well.

If you want to chat about it with someone who has been there you know where to find me.

Best wishes from a fellow adoptee.
