We had joy, we had fun, we had.. Patch Day.

Phew. Yesterday Blizzard released a new patch for World of Warcraft. As anyone who has played WoW for any length of time knows, patch day is always an adventure. I have a low-level character on three or four different realms than my main one because of past patch days. This last one was the first big one since the expansion came out. It added some new areas, some new quest lines (including the one that ends with the acquisition of the Nether Drake ..drool), and made some changes to skills and talents of every class. However, as with all things new, all the bugs didn't get worked out in testing. So not long after I got home, once I had downloaded the patch, and finally got to my login screen.. there was a message there that they were going to be issuing realm restarts to fix something that was causing items to disappear from peoples' inventory, and that each realm should be down for maybe 15 minutes once the restart began. Malfurion (my main realm) went down at about 7:30 or so our time, and was not back until 10:30. So I now have a new night elf rogue on Azshara, and even then, I only got to play for about an hour before I had to go to bed. Still, it was fun. I haven't played a rogue in quite a while, so it was kind of nice to get that different perspective. I might go back and play there again even if my regular server is up! :)
