It's getting closer to home..

We took a little drive yesterday, to visit my aunt and uncle who live in Rockford. My cousin Ben joined the Marines last fall, and he just got home recently from his basic training and stuff. So my aunt had a party for him, and invited the family over to see all of his uniforms and everything, and to welcome him back. We stopped by for a little while, and it was very nice to see everyone! Andy followed Ben around for quite a while, asking him all sorts of questions. My aunt said that he just missed deployment this year to Iraq, he got home just a few days before they sent out a group. She's very relieved that he won't be deployed just yet, but of course she's concerned about the future.




My uncle took this picture while we were there... something about it just tugs at the heartstrings. I hope that someday that's not my baby boy in that uniform.
