Issues.
The other day I was driving home from work, and I had just come through an intersection (with traffic signal). I see a guy jogging up the road towards said intersection, with one of those jogging type of three-wheeled strollers. He then proceeds to turn, and cross the street in front of the car in front of me to get to a side street across the way, coming not too far from being hit by that car, and the one coming from the opposite direction. There are three businesses (small ones!) between this side street and the intersection I have just driven through. A gas station, a donut shop, and a party store. My question is this. Would it have been worth it to save the extra 40 feet of jogging up to the light and back down again should you or your child have been hit by you crossing the street in the middle? You're out for a JOG, for heaven's sake, to EXERCISE, and this little distance is not worth it for you and the potential danger to your CHILD?? I don't get it.

That's just crazy! :(
Sometimes I wonder if some guys are missing the common sense gene. I jog all the time with my son and I never cross major intersections. I pretty much stay on the jogging trail and try to stay as far away from cars as possible. But I always see the dad's jogging along the busiest streets. What's up with that?
i would like to call him lazy...but he was out jogging so.....
People with the strollers are getting a little carried away.
ican't tell you how many times I've been run into by one of these things.
I turn around and it is always to a sour faced mom or dad saying excuse me so they can get in fromt of me at whatever line I'm standing in.
Please...
Kids do not equal priviledge.
I'm tired of being treated like I need to get out of these people's way.
Kids don't allow you to push everyone else around...
donuts? oboy!!!

You've been TAGGED with the Four Things Meme!
Sigh. I can't even say what I really think about this. I'll just shake my head.

I'd love to hear your opinion on this about a year from now. :)
Sheesh! What an idiot.
this is something that has been on my mind a lot lately. Especially since I live in California where almost everybody owns and uses a car.
Should the rules for Pedestrians be more strict? In this case it would by default have been the car's fault if they had been hit. NO MATTER WHERE the pedestrian crosses. Now, don't get me wrong. It would have been a horrible tragedy, but should the driver of the vehicle be at fault? I think the guilt would have been enough punishment.
Isn't it crazy how people are today?
When in Indianapolis recently, I was almost hit TWICE as a pedestrian (and I was in the cross-walk).
No one knows the rules anymore - people in cars think they have the right of way, and pedestrians just think that every car will stop for them.
But the guy with the stroller needs to buy a clue!
ps
you realize no one outside of Michigan will realize what a "party store" is --- I had no clue until I moved to Michigan.
Everywhere else they are "convenience" stores!
