Dear B

Why were you on my couch when I got up to go to work this morning? You no longer live across town, so I know it wasn't the drive home that was too daunting. Hubby only had $10 when you went out, and $5 of that was still in his wallet this morning, so I know it can't be that you were too drunk to even walk home. I hope you do not think that this will be a regular occurrence, because I am here to tell you that it will not be. Hubby and I have discussed to no end that you will not find yourself living with us again, no matter what happens in your life, so don't think that your latest story will help you any in that department. And yes, I believe that whole thing you shared with hubby is just that, a story. You've cried wolf way too many times in the past, my dear, for me to take anything you say at face value any more, no matter how horrible. You have pretended to be your son online, even to the point of making some poor girl believe that you were her boyfriend. You dramatized your last pregnancy to the point that you had some person believing that your daughter might not survive long past birth. You are a story-teller and a manipulative liar, and I will not have you or your son living under my roof. We went down that road once before, and it WILL NOT happen again. You brought very unsavory people to our house, looking for drugs and God knows what else. You persist in your friendship with one of them, to the detriment of every other relationship you have had since you met her. I do not understand how you can not see why every person who cares about you does not like this friend, and does not want her around. WAKE UP, get the hell off my couch, and GO HOME.

I am the last person to claim that I or my family is perfect, and I don't honestly know where that enters into any of this.
