This is my kind of meme!
Here are the rules:
1. Grab the nearest book. If you are currently reading something, that'll be fine too.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 4 sentences on your Blog along with these instructions.
5. Tag 5 people (like I know 5 people to tag!!)
Prince of Dogs, by Kate Elliot
But that gift, said to be the life's blood of his mother's kin, he knew nothing of. She had abandoned him, and he had taken up instead the birthright of his father's people. Trained to fight bravely, he knew nothing else. He had nothing else.
The brass badge pressed painfully against the joint where arm met shoulder as he shifted, trying to find a comfortable position so that the chains did not rub him raw.
I'm going to tag the Dragon, as he is the only blogger I know that hasn't done this yet! :) I'm so glad I could find this book.. the only other one around is What to Expect When You're Expecting. And for the record, I'm NOT expecting, lol. The book got left out of the packing because I don't need it any more.
6 fellow footsteps:
I got tagged with this also. Lucky for everyone else I was reading a real book and not a repair manual lol.
wow, one of the few Ive come across that reads "fantasy fiction"!!.. can't say I've heard of Kate Elliot... does she write a good adventure?
So far, not bad! :) This is only book 2 of a 7-book series, I'll let you know when I finish! :)
I knew you'd like this MeMe!!!
Okay, i'll do it. Give me a minute though. And i'm only doing it because I like you and Skittles and Mike.
The Dragon usually frowns upon these Meme's.
But i gotcha.
just visiting again and looking at your sidebar.. I see you have links to many that I read too: McCaffrey/ Weis/ Brooks/ Hickman.. have you never read any of David Eddings or Stephen R Donaldson? If not, judging by the authors you like I would strongly recommend them!
