What's up?

Not a whole lot to report today, but I feel like I'm REALLY slacking if I don't at least say hello to y'all once a week! :)

Work is finally slowing down a bit. Next week will be kind of rough because my boss is going to be on vacation for the whole week, but I think I'll manage somehow. At home we're just enjoying the last few weeks of summer, and I'm cursing the leaves as they change color from green to red and yellow and orange.

Don't get me wrong, I love Fall. The weather is awesome, even when it starts getting colder. But there's one thing that I unabashedly loathe about this season. It means Winter is getting closer. And I REALLY don't like Winter. Snow is fine, pretty to look at, fun to play in for a while, yes. Driving on snow, however, is the pits. I probably ranted about this same thing around this time of year last year, but unfortunately, it's something I have to live with every year.

Someday maybe we'll be able to move to a state that doesn't have so much snow in the Winter. In the meantime, I'll curse every driver who's forgotten over the summer that snow and ice are slippery, every inch of snow that the plow has kindly left at the end of our driveway.. and I'll be grateful for every day I have before then, all the thunderstorms and blustery weather, the wonderful colors all around. And on the deepest, darkest night, when the snow is drifting up past my knees on the sidewalk, I'll try to hold fast to the knowledge that this too shall pass, and spring and summer are not far behind.

I'm glad we don't have the snow to drive in but we have tule fog (tulie)
and people come flying through on Hwy I-5 or Hwy 99 without slowing down - we have had some horrific accidents.
I'm anxious for the cooler weather it's just that I don't like to see all my flowers croak.

I'm 30something and I have never driven on snow. Sounds like fun!

The last time we had snow that stuck on the ground was 1989.

Granted I was born and raised in Florida, but I've been up here since 1978. That should be enough time to be used to Winter, right?

HAH! ;)

Snow is pretty when I'm all snug and warm inside.. but I do not like going out in it.

Yesss.. I remember shoveling out the end of our driveway. *Shakes fist at the snow plows*
