It's Over.

Before I get into this post, I want to say sorry for not posting AT ALL this week. Next week I'll do better, I promise :)

Anyway, on to the topic at hand, my WoW guild!

Yesterday was a very sad day on our guild forums. We had gone the whole week without even coming close to enough signups to manage a 25-man raid. I think the most on one day was 16. So yesterday morning when my GL got up, he finally gave in and gave up. Our guild is now officially not an end-game raiding guild any more. We had too many people leave, and take breaks from raiding, to make up with recruitment. Not that he didn't try, but since it's summer, the number of people available even to join the guild has been slim to none. I think in the past week we picked up two or three people, but we'd lost at least three times that over the past couple of months. Including our main healer. Once she left, it was pretty much guaranteed that we were done.

I was.. relieved I guess, the pressure was finally off, and it was said that if people want to move on to other guilds who are currently still raiding, they would be welcome to if they wanted to. I'm not going to leave, because frankly, my schedule isn't made for raiding. I tried, and for a lot longer than I probably should have. But I'm feeling a lot better health-wise now that I'm keeping a better sleep schedule.

So that post went out around 11 AM EST yesterday. A few people posted that they were sad, but proud of what we had accomplished. Good show, yadda yadda yadda. Then last night my GL posted again in that thread. HE was leaving the guild, and leaving his alt as GL. I figured this would happen, but I didn't think he'd do it so soon after making that post. I thought he'd wait a few days at least, to let things die down a bit. I was wrong, and a little miffed.

I know nobody's perfect, but to me that sends an entirely different message than what was said earlier in the day. Then it was ok, we're stepping down from progression raiding, honorable retirement, we'll be back and better than ever in Wrath. There was sadness, but a determined sense of hope. Now.. I just feel kind of abandoned. Like the only reason he finally gave in and made the decision was because HE wanted to find somewhere else to be and start raiding again, and that was the only way he could manage it and not feel like a butthead for abandoning the guild again.

By the time I logged in last night at around 9:30, he was already in another guild, and running Kara with them. A lot of other people were already in other guilds as well, which makes me think they'd been applying around earlier, and now that things were official with SI, finally felt free to make the move.

Oh well.. I hope they're all happier in their other guilds. Me, I finally got enough signatures on my charter to re-form Wyld Stallyns, and if things in SI get too empty and lonely, I'll probably drop Asara in there. For now my mage alt is GL, and it works anyway, because her name is Tehd.

That's all for now, I hope everyone has a great long weekend! I know I'm going to enjoy the rest :) Oh, and stop by and visit Frigga, she's Rockin' again today!

I know just how you feel, Asara. We managed to pull together a guild run of Gruul/Maggie run on Tuesday with the help of some PUGgies. We tried to do the same with TK yesterday, but still ended up 7 people short (dps, too. We had healers and tanks, but not enough dps. What is the world coming to?)

Hopefully, I've done a deal with another guild that means we'll be able to do some T5 raiding co-operatively with them this coming Sunday, but who knows?

Ah well, at least there are enough for Kara tonight.

I don't understand half of that, but I do understand the emotions behind it, sweetie.
I hope you & hubby get some quality WoW time this weekend, and kick some virtual bootie.

Awww, that is sad when a group of friends breaks off into other groups... but you have been having trouble with getting enough people together to do what you want, maybe it'll be better once you're in a different guild... And wow, without ever playing WoW I feel like I'm starting to know more about it! ;-)

Thank You Thank You for the link love!!!!!! :D

It's a sad time when a guild you've felt so at home in comes to an end like that. Hope you and the hubby find somewhere fun to be. /hug

How awful for you & Billy. I know how devoted to SI you've both been for such a time.

(I emailed Billy a WoW question.. can you nudge him to check? Thx!)
