A bit calmer.

My mother-in-law called last night and I finally got to talk to someone about what's going on with my sister-in-law. Apparently everyone was talking to everyone, and everyone figured that they'd let someone else call us because they were all so tired of talking about it, and emotionally strung-out by the whole thing. In retrospect, I am now kind of glad that I wasn't right in the middle of everything, because with the way things are at work for me, the extra stress might have landed me a room right next to my sister-in-law. Her kids are being well taken care of, her son might spend some time with us this weekend if hubby is feeling better. Right now he's got a monster of a cold, poor guy (my hubby, I mean).

In other news, our pipes froze for the first time yesterday. We made it through all of last winter without it happening, but yesterday hubby had to call the office because we had no water. The maintenance guy brought out a heater, and by evening, things were back on track. We could hear him outside talking to our neighbor, saying that all he'd been able to do all day was unfreeze pipes and plow! Just between us.. he could do a little more on the plowing end. There's a huge line down the middle of our street that wasn't touched at all yesterday. Our old maintenance guy (who was a friend of ours) would be out there in the middle of the night sometimes, making sure that everything was plowed when people got up to go to work. This guy.. not so much. Oh well.. it's only what, 4 months out of the year, right? I'll just be glad we live so close to the park entrance, and not way in the back.

Glad you have the skinny on your SIL. I hope hubby feels better soon. I hate it when the pipes freeze. You know like you get up and can't take a shower, but have to go to work. I so remember. Have a great day. :)

I sure hope that Billy is feeling better soon - poor guy! Glad to hear that you also got the scoop on what was going on with your SIL. Hopefully she'll be well enough to come home soon.

As for the pipes - ugh! Let's hope that spring is at least thinking about showing up before that happens again!

Do I need to send hubby your way to fix busted pipes?

Glad to hear the family drama is somewhat sorted out.
