Readers Imbibing Peril Challenge!

All right, I know I am extremely late in coming to this, but I'm going to give it the old college try from here on out! Carl V. of Stainless Steel Droppings is having a reading challenge in the spirit of Fall and the upcoming Halloween. It's called Readers Imbibing Peril (RIP), and this is the second year he has set this up. The requirements are relatively simple, and there are many different ways to participate. He only asks that the books you read are reviewed, as a sort of proof that you've read them. So the first book I have chosen to read is Needful Things, by Stephen King. I just grabbed it out of the bookshelf this morning, and it's a pretty hefty one.. Amazon puts the paperback version at about 800 pages. The contest ends on October 31, so I'd better get cracking if I'm going to finish this and at least one other book before then!

This is such a fun challenge!! I thought Needful Things was a great book! The movie didn't really translate as well as I thought it would. But it was still pretty creepy! Happy reading!

I think that's so cool that you picked a Stephen King book to read in October! I might have gone for a less hefty volume myself but I'm sure you'll have no trouble terrifying yourself with this one in no time flat!

This is a great book! None of King's books have translated well onto the big screen. I think it's the imagining that goes on in our minds that makes it scarier...
