It is to sigh.

I wonder why it is that every time a review site actually makes it over to visit my blog, they get me on off-times. I've been reviewed twice now by some pretty "give it to you straight" kind of reviewers, and both times my main page has been pretty much covered in meme's and fluff. Granted, I probably don't have a lot of posts in my archives that are meaningful and thought-provoking, but I've never considered myself a writer, and never really thought that I could present myself in a witty and crowd-pleasing manner. I have no big political views to expound upon, very few amusing anecdotes that aren't directly related to something my kids did or said, honestly, my brain seems sometimes to be full of a fat lot of nothing.

So why even have a blog?

To be honest, I don't know any more. I can't remember why I even started this, except that it seemed like it could be fun, and, when I manage a post that gets a reaction (that's not a weekly meme or any meme at all).... it makes me feel good, to know that I have connected with people. I'm not saying I'm giving up, just because a couple of (very blunt) people told me that I and my blog should die in a fire. I'll probably continue on in the same vein that I have been. I want to leave an apology here to those who are visiting from the site that most recently reviewed me. Sorry for wasting your time. Sorry for taking up space in the 1337 community of bloggers who DO have important things to say. But also thank you. Thank you for your honesty, thank you for not pulling your punches. I will continue to visit your site, hoping to find the things that do spark your interest, that I might learn more about what it is to be a good blogger.

I asked, and I have received. Thanks.

Blogging simply because you want to is more than enough of a reason to continue at it. I think people forget that the purpose of a blog is for the author, not for readers or subsequent commenting.

We offer our opinion for fun, not for validation. Perhaps I should make that more clear on our site. I know getting a good review is always uplifting, but getting a bad review only means that one person wasn't particularly fond of your blog. That's all.

Chin up, kid. =0)

It really doesn't matter what anyone thinks of your blog as long as you enjoy it.

Really. Truly.

It may not be my thing, but that doesn't mean it won't be someone else's thing.

I have a picture from vacation that fits what I would like to say here. *EG*

Even if ALL you did was memes and you enjoyed them, so what??? It's your blog to do with as you please.

Also.. you got a nice critique from Billy Mac and then again from his guest reviewer. :)

hey, i asked for a review from thos @#!$%es at some blog i found through Lizza but i haven't heard from them yet, but even if i do, and it's a terrible review, guess what.

I sit down and i write my next post because who the hell are they. I don't write for them, i write for myself and for you, and anybody else who enjoys coming to my page. Everyone tells you to "blog for yourself" so i won't say it again, i'll say "blog for me, because i enjoy your blog"!

You keep me comin' back.

I say just keep doing what you're doing. As long as you like it, who cares about anything else.
