A Joke.

I don't remember who told me this one, but here goes.

A bus full of ugly people gets in a wreck, and everyone on it dies and goes to heaven. God sees them all waiting in line at the Pearly Gates, and decides that since they've all had tough lives of people picking on them and whatnot, he'll give them each one wish before they get in to heaven. The first person wishes to be beautiful. Poof, you're beautiful, welcome to Heaven! The second one says, well heck, I wish to be beautiful too! On down the line they go, each person wishing to be beautiful. When about half of the people have gone in to Heaven, the person at the end of the line starts giggling. By the time it's his turn, he's laughing so hard tears are rolling down his cheeks. Saint Peter says, "Well, I don't know what's so funny, but what's your wish?"

The man looks up at Saint Peter, wipes his eyes, and says, "Make 'em all ugly again!"

Off Topic:

I read your comment at Dirk's place, and I understand why you deleted the comment made here by Butchie.

What we would really like is for Dirk to just go away. But he keeps on coming back for more rabble rousing.

He claims that he will only delete comments from his blog that are offensive, but when I left a comment simply objecting to his "Fight Club" post he refused to publish it.

I am sorry that this has invaded your space. We are hoping that Dirk's friends and acquaintances can check him and keep him away, since he has become an offensive pest.

I know you don't like pictures of nudity and whatnot. I respect that. Likewise you would probably find Dirk's comments about incest and whatnot very offensive. Maybe you have the pull to talk him into leaving us alone...

Either way, I apologize again to resort to this level of desperation. He really is foul.

BTW, here is the post I tried to leave at Dirk's which he wouldn't publish:

ello Dirk,

I read your post and I believe I know the “Fight Club” to which you refer. I must say that your post is entirely disingenuous. The ‘quote’ that you attribute to your adversary is not even an accurate paraphrase of their words; and your own behavior in that forum has been far from the innocence that you describe here Moreover you have entirely mischaracterized the nature of the site, the blogger, and the various commenters that participate there. Please note that some people refrain from posting personal information on their blog because they are not interested in informing strangers on the internet with details that could be used to harm them. That does not imply nefarious intent.

I gather that you would instantly delete this comment if I were to link to the offending site, no doubt because you are so concerned for your visitor’s well-being. Frankly, I expect that you will delete this comment anyway, even though I have avoided any profanity or personal attacks. That is because you are actually more concerned about how your viewers perceive you than you are worried about leading people to the “dark side”. But, hey, that’s just my opinion. Your astute readers can make up their own minds with just a little effort at Google.

As far as I am concerned, you can continue to post quixotically about your grand successes in facing the virulent monsters of the world. I think it is fine that your friends here think you are a hero worthy of praise. I don’t care. But I am not alone in my wish that you would simply stay far away from our evil abode. We do not wish to fight with you; we just want you to go away and stop coming back. That is all.

Thims--
I don't know if you'll be back, but I want to thank you for your maturity and tact in dealing with this issue, and apology accepted, no question. Depending on his response, I may or may not have further dealings with Dirk in the future. As I said over at Butchie's, I appreciate the eye opener, and the reminder that hunky-dory on the outside does not necessarily mean hunky-dory on the inside. I believed from reading Dirk's blog that he was in some ways a kindred soul, I got a lot from his posts there. But antagonizing others to make yourself feel better is no way to conduct business, even such a casual one as blogging, and rest assured, that I take your sentiments to heart. Thanks.

Actually I probably will be back. I like your blog. You are accomplished at the art.

It is much better than my non-blog. Someday I will write my great treatise on the concept of Anthropic Tautology, and the creation by and of God.

In the mean time, rock on. Don't let the poopy diapers get you down. They are just more evidence of your greatest triumph.

Very funny
and some interesting off topic food for thought.

Many thanks :) I'll see you around, look forward to your blog, and word on the diapers. That's a large truth. *bows*
